Do you count yourself as a drift racing fan? And if not, are you perhaps considering checking it out? If that's true, you may want to tune in to G4TV network - the official partner of the Formula D series.

This popular network is very well known to the fans of computer gaming-the focus of this network. Even though gaming is the primary focus, there are other kinds of programming available. There is also a connection to the gaming community through sponsorship - the very popular game Need for Speed. This game was one of the catalysts that helped propel drifting into the mainstream from the fringes of pop culture.

First things first - figure out if the channel is available in your area. Quick check online will tell us if you have Dish Network, Charter Communications, Direct TV, Time Warner, Mediacom, Bresnan Communications, Cox, RCN, Comcast, Adelphia, or Insight, all of which can get you G4TV. Being a customer of one of these programming providers does not guarantee you are getting G4TV. However, it should not be a problem to get an upgrade for some extra dollars.

A lot of G4 programs are focusing on Formula D Series. For example, the event that takes place in Seattle is called "Seattle Drift." Besides "SD" episodes you'll be able to watch some reruns from previously taped events that run for a certain time period. Plus, you may get some of the behind the scenes footage such as technical specs of the cars or interviews with actual drivers.

If you count yourself with the unlucky number of people without G4 access, you can still get those programs through the iTunes store. iTunes is the official partner for G4 podcasts. Normally they are about two minutes long. Basically, they are shorter versions of regular shows on the G4 network. Of course, you have to have a computer and internet connection in order to watch these podcasts. All podcasts are free as well as iTunes software courtesy of Apple and G4 partnership. So either you don't have G4 access or there's nothing on when you want to watch it - the podcasts are an easy option to find some Series D programming when you need it.

If you'd like to find out if there's a Formula D event being televised, you need to check out your local TV schedule. You can do this on the internet through the G4 website which does have more of the original programming available online only like behind the scenes, exclusive interviews and more.

I have always been a huge Mike Whiddett fan! Being a DISH Network employee/consumer, I will be able to catch his races much easier now! DirecTV has recently dropped G4 because of viewer counts, but they did it just before the channel got even better! Regardless, I'll be watching it in HD!
